Our Advisor, Prof. Nguyễn Khắc-Kham, had publised this article "Chữ Nôm or the former Vietnamese script and its past Contributions to Vietnamese literature" in 1974 in the issue 24 of the Area and Culture Studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. The institute of Vietnamese Studies is posting the recent electronic edition by Nguyễn Quang Trung & Lê Văn Đặng. The article uses several languages: English, Japanese, Vietnamese, Nôm, French, and Korean as well.

In our recently published Monograph on Nom Characters we included a summary in Japanese of the 1974 research article "Chữ Nôm and its past Contributions to Vietnamese literature" by Professor Nguyen Khac Kham of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. At the request of a number of readers, we have now posted on the Institute of Vietnamese Studies Web Page a Vietnamese version by Mr. Nguyen Duc Kinh of the above-mentioned summary. This summary in Vietnamese is also included with the article by Professor Nguyen Khac Kham, which is made available individually from the Monograph on Nom Characters.
